Well, I got most of the way through the color work before realizing I had included more of your guild cape than I could see from the screenshots. Could you give me a shot of it so I can see what color it is? Or if you don't want it i the image, just let me know; it's only a little bit of linework to erase.

You can skip the cape. It's my guild and I'm about the only one left in it.

Okay... I think it's done.

I had a lot of trouble with the skin tone. In retrospect, I probably should have asked for another picture, because the references were in very different lights and I think both of them tinted the image a little. (I saved the image as a RIF before collapsing it, so if it's wrong, I can go back in and fix it for you.)

Also, it is now official: I am never drawing any Chaos Thingy ever again. I did it, now I've done it and I shan't do it again. Especially not Chaos Gloves. Hands are bad enough without having to make them all glowy and lineless.

But anyway, the picture!

I finally settled the arm problem by pulling out one of my D&D figures and copying the pose. It's a bit different than I originally envisioned, but it was much easier to do and I think it still looks pretty good.

I simplified some of the lines on the armor and such because I was going a bit crazy trying to do them all.

Oh, and for my own personal record because I know I'm going to forget and then be confused the next time I go in to do something like this: I used the Wet Oily brush, then added the Soft Charcoal on another layer. The Chaos Axe was the Charcoal with white Charcoal brushing on a layer above, and then another layer above the linework to produce the glow around the hand.

Good to see something from you again.

Personally, I really like the rough lines you used to do.

Nice, the non-elite Kurzick armor was always the better choice of the two for females.

I think it's the best female warrior armor in the game. I would buy elite, but kept going back to this set.

I'm in the process of learning more about Painter right now (I got the full version for my birthday - no more Painter Essentials!), so it will be a little bit (somewhere between a couple days and a week) before I really get to work on the next one, but hopefully I will be able to produce better commishes than before.

I'll be moving into my family friend's apartment again in a couple weeks to house-sit for her; my initial burst of commishes a couple years back was completed there. I'm going to try for the same thing, alternating between working on setup for my Pathfinder campaign (still have to work out a bit of dialogue and most of the stat blocks), getting started on painting figures for the aforementioned campaign, and churning out commishes. How much of all of these gets done really depends on whether or not the library calls me back about that volunteer job (honestly I don't get why they wouldn't; I'm not a criminal or anything and they don't have to pay me, so why wouldn't they want me working there?).

So Frostkisses gets to be the lucky winner of the experimental portrait, lol. This is my first real attempt at a picture solely in pencil and chalk/pastel. If y'all would give me your opinion as to whether you prefer this or my usual oil+chalk, it'd be a great help.

This portrait also came out a little more sketchy than the usual. If you'd like I can probably trim the lines down a little.

Oh, and WOW was that armor hard, with the jangly bits and the thin scribbly tattoos and the flowerpot hat (actually it looks nicer than I used to think, but it'll always be a flowerpot ). I had a lot of trouble trying to get the value hierarchy and the local values on the metal right, and I'm still not sure if I pulled it off. It was nice not having to spend the usual half hour getting the eyes to look not-demented, though.

BTW, what's the character's name? If you're concerned about account security I'm good with just part of it, or a nickname. I'd just like to title it for Photobucket and DeviantArt (when I finally get around to updating the bloody thing... >.<)

EDIT: On a mostly unrelated note, does anyone know how to look at the graphics settings on an HP Pavilion dv6? After having had the chance to use my desktop again, I've noticed how very dull the colors seem to be on my laptop - kind of an issue when coloring drawings. :|

I love the sketchy style of this, I think it works really well and the looseness of it gives it a lot of personality. I also think you did a great job on the skin colour tones. Very nice indeed!

I'm not sure if it's because of the armor, but I see lots of improvements in this one!

Finished Verene's piece!

I hate how the shield turned out (perspective/shading on that bugger... AUGH), and I feel like I changed the face some, but overall I'm happy with it. The pose took FOR EVER. Hope ya don't mind how srsface she is in the pic.

Hey Qing,
Sorry about the disappearance for the last month or so. You are probably not doing them anymore but If you are, then I am still interested. I'll even pay a little extra for the trouble.

Oh hey, you are alive!

Don't worry, EtherealByte, I am still willing to do your pic! (your character is pretty, and also I need moneys for hero armors) I don't know when it will be finished, but I will work on it when I can!

Also, I am actually going to update my dA now. Maybe not right this second, but soonish.

Finally finished!

Maaaan, all those little bone bits... akafklfkalkdfjklasjflkajf

I'm pretty happy with how the scythe turned out, though.

Anyway, that's it for commishes until Guild Wars 2 comes out! I'll probably be around in GW a little bit, to wrap up Winds of Change and do a little HoM stuff, but for the most part SWTOR is eating my life. See y'all around!
